Alla was wonderful: patient and extremely thorough despite the very short time available, due to our delay due to city traffic. Thanks Alla from Florence

Behind its sturdy towers and walls are hidden palaces and cathedrals, civil buildings and other treasures... Find out the secrets of the Kremlin with this guided tour.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Kutafiya Tower, the access point to the Kremlin monuments. On our tour of this giant walled space, we'll visit its principal points of interest. Let's go!

We'll begin by visiting Cathedral Square. This is a complex of religious buildings, including three Orthodox churches: the Cathedral of the Assumption, the Cathedral of the Archangel and the Cathedral of the Annunciation. This large space was the coronation site for Russian tsars.

After visiting the interior of these cathedrals, we'll return to the square, where your attention will be drawn to a towering tower crowned by a golden dome: Ivan the Great Bell Tower. During the French invasions, Napoleon's troops tried unsuccessfully to blow up its structure.

The tour will also stop at Tsar Cannon, one of the largest cannons in the world, measuring 890 mm (35 in). First used in the 16th century during the reign of Tsar Fyodor I, it weighs almost 40 tonnes. A few metres away is Tsarina Bell, the largest bell in the world, weighing over 200 tonnes.

We'll continue our visit to the Kremlin to see the Kremlin's civil and government buildings from the outside: the Grand Palace, the Senate, the Congress Palace, the offices of the Government of the Russian Federation...

We'll end the tour 2 hours later in the Alexandrovsky Gardens, located on the west wall of the Kremlin.

Why Reserve this Tour?

The walled area of the Kremlin occupies a space of 27 hectares, a space which can be overwhelming if visiting unguided. With this tour, the guide explains the principal monuments and curiosities of the Kremlin, enabling you to gain a deeper understanding of the history behind them.

Armoury Museum

If you wish, you can round off your visit to the Kremlin with a guided tour of the Armoury Museum, located inside the complex. The museum tour begins at 4 pm, just after the guided tour of the Kremlin ends. This means you can visit both the complex and the museum on the same day.

Important Info

If you wish, you can stay inside the Kremlin after the tour. From April to November, it's possible to climb the Ivan the Great Bell Tower. To visit it, you must purchase a ticket at the Kremlin ticket office before entering the grounds.
